A bit about me.......

 I have been a personal trainer for over 17 years and have over 20 years of experience working with and alongside athletes of all grades and success levels. I have personally trained footballers, rugby players, bodybuilders, kickboxers, mma fighters and powerlifters. I have also worked with special groups that include those in a custody setting and those in the community but identified as posing a risk to either themselves or the wider community.

 

I have written two gym based programmes. the first was an adaptation of the City & Guilds, NVQ level 4 qualification in Leisure centre management. It was adapted to suit those in a custodial setting taking into account the limitations resulting from minimal internet access, security protocols and national guidelines.

 

The second was a 12 week intervention course aimed at young adults. Using physical activity, sports and nutritional education, positive role models and a carefully structured programme, 12 young people per course were assisted in reasserting control over their own lives. The ultimate aim of the programme was to reduce reoffending rates within the catchment area and independant analysis proved it was successful. With funding from the Police crime commission, I ran the courses for over 12 months. 

 

I taught Focus Training Ltd courses for 2 years, these included - 'Assistant Gym Instructor',  'Gym Instructor'', 'Healthy Lifestyle Management' and 'Advanced Fitness and Weight Training Instructor' courses.

 

I have managed one of the largest MMA (mixed martial arts) facilities in the UK and have managed a facility comprising of Crossfit 1664, The British Powerlifting organisation, Osaka Judo and Fight-science Ltd. I have also worked closely with Karate, Kung fu, Bjj, wrestling coaches, although I cannot profess to be skilled in these areas other than having a broader understanding of the pyhsiological demands related to them.

 

I have huge experience of taking, running and assessing groups in a sporting environment. Having worked with numerous sports at varying levels I am adept at managing classes and large groups. I am especially experienced at designing, producing and delivering themed circuit classes for individuals and groups.

 

As a personal trainer, I see it as my job to keep you motivated, on track and trying. If and when adaptations are needed or desired then we will chose them together, using your goals, your abilities and a realistic time frame coupled with my experience and knowledge.
